If you are thinking of doing a camel safari, don't hesitate and go with Real Desert in Jaisalmer. Enjoy your night in the dunes with no human life or trash in sight was the perfect way to get away from chaos of the day to day life. Get great experience with great people and rich culture of Rajasthan!
Once you land in Delhi and finish off the formalities, our representative will arrange for your hotel transfer and help you through the check in process. If you land early in the day, you have the option to visit the Akshardham temple, the perfect confluence of history and architecture of the country. Else, you can rest at the hotel and acclimatize to the Indian time zone.
The capital city of India has lots to offer to an eager eye. Stark differences in the architecture of buildings are evident in the city. One can only imagine how the city must have coped with the numerous shifts in powers. Probably, it also made the metropolitan that we see today. Rajghat, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, India Gate, Chandni Chowk are a few of the sights included in your guided tour. We return to the hotel for the night.
After breakfast, we start towards the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Our destination is Mandawa, a semi-arid region in the north east of the state. Mandawa is home to havelis built in the 18th and 19th century. Most of these havelis have paintings on their walls, which have made this area a favourite amongst tourists. Before returning to your hotel, we have a scheduled a visit to the market area to officially start your shopping in Rajasthan.
From Mandawa we head to Bikaner after breakfast. Known for its sweets and snacks all over the country, Bikaner is not a desert per se. It is an arid region and is filled with scrubs. Once we reach the hotel, you have some time for lunch and settle in. Later in the day, we set out for sightseeing in the city. We shall visit the Lalgarh Palace, Fort Museum, Junagarh Fort and of course, the market areas to taste the tradition of sweets and snacks of Bikaner.
We have an early morning breakfast before starting for Jaisalmer, the city untouched by modernism and capable of taking you back in time. The temples, palaces, lake and havelis of the city all wear a look that dates back a few centuries and that is exactly what makes your visit most exciting. The small streets, sandstone walls and the rich architecture make Jaisalmer one of the best tourist destinations in the country.
Finally, the day you were waiting for. We begin the safari leg of your tour with a camel ride to Badabagh. The Bhatti Rajput Kings who once ruled Jaisalmer built royal cenotaphs at Badabagh, which are worth seeing. For lunch, we take you to a typical village of Rajasthan, Baisakhai where you will also visit the village temple. We then travel to Ramkunda, a place of pilgrimage and filled with many Hindu temples. The night will be spent in the tents at Ramkunda.
Your day to meet more Rajasthani folk starts with breakfast and then we resume our travelling. Travelling via the Roopse village which has mud and stick houses, we will reach Ludharva. After lunch, we will visit the Jain temple and resume travelling till we reach Chatrayil, a village with a large Muslim population. Here, you will have your dinner and sleep in the tents that have been set up for tourist purposes.
We resume the Safari after breakfast and head to the Rajput village of Salkha. Here, we shall have lunch and take some rest. We will proceed to Beri of Kanoi, where there are numerous water wells. You can see the women of the desert in their colourful dresses fill water and stack multiple pots on their heads and make their way to their houses. Walking through the wonderful sand dunes, we will reach our campsite where dinner, folk music and campfire await you. An entertainment filled night and scrumptious dinner before you retire at the tents for the night.
After breakfast, we visit the village of Kanoi. This is the village of carpenters who excel in making beautifully carved items. After a bit of shopping in the village, we travel to Masoordi, our lunch stop. Our camels will further take us to the oasis at Jeseiri. Beautiful landscape and delicious dinner are a speciality of this Rajput village. Another night that will be spent in the desert camp.
In the morning, we start moving towards Dedha where you can see the lifestyle of the Rajputs in much detail. Our lunch is scheduled at Deegasar, a village with a breath-taking landscape thanks to its lake. You can then see how agriculture is done in the desert state at Rajput Dhani. Later, we move to Kuldhara, an ancient village which was well planned and stood the test of time too.
Enjoy your last day of riding the camels as we make our way through Amarsagar and Moolsagarto Jaisalmer. After a tiring trip through the desert, the rest of the day is reserved for rest and relaxation.
After a delicious breakfast, you will visit the liveliest fort in the country, the Jaisalmer Fort. The fort is still strong and holds over a thousand people within its walls. Later in the day, you can visit as many havelis which are spread all over the city before we head to the Sand dunes once again for the Sunset Point. We will come back to the hotel at night.
Travelling is now by road and we start for Jodhpur after an early breakfast. The guided tour at Jodhpur includes the Mehrangarh fort, the Jaswant Thada and the beautiful cenotaphs built in white marble in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh.
We follow the royal tradition of taking a camel safari at Bishnoi village. This age old custom was started by the kings of the region to display the richness of the cultural life of Jodhpur to their guests. You can either opt for a half day or full day safari of this region. Although culturally rich, water is scarce in the region and tourism is one way the place survives today.
For our next destination, we move to the hustle and bustle of the city life of Jaipur. Although travelling to the city has shattered your tranquillity gained from the camel safari and visits to villages, do not miss the opportunity of exploring the city. The best part is that you do not have to travel far in the city to visit its tourist destinations. The tour for the day includes a ride past the Hawa Mahal and a trip to the markets of Jaipur.
Today you will visit the beautiful fort of Amer, once the capital of the kingdom of Jaipur. You can make your trip to the fort more royal by opting for the elephant ride. The fort has stunning palaces with walls having mirror mosaic work. We will then go to the exquisite City Palace whose gardens and courtyards make you feel no lesser than a royal guest in the city. The Palace also houses a museum with rare manuscripts and miniature paintings that must not be missed. The king’s passion for astronomy can be witnessed by visiting the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in the 17th century before we return to the hotel for some rest.
After breakfast, we hit the roads again. This time towards Delhi and your flight back home. Our pit stop is the Neemrana Palace, a historical heritage hotel and your final dip at the colourful ghats of Rajasthan’s culture and hospitality.
