Keoladeo Shiva temple

This is an ancient Lord shiva temple inside the bird sanctuary. Infact the Keoladeo bird sanctuary was kept on the Keoladeo Temple. The road from the main gate leads to this place. The place has become a place for the tourists and the rickshaw pullers due to the location of a cafeteria, a small park, with a machan, which can be climbed.

Keoladeo (Shiva) temple is situated in the Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur. It is a beautiful Shiva temple and worship is going on. There is a pandit to take care of the temple. But visitors are few as people who visit the Bird sanctuary can only visit the temple. As the ticket to the park is Rs.75/- for Indians, locals can not visit the temple often. Only on Shivratri day it is free of ticket for locals to visit the temple it seems

This temple is the part of Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary, Baratpur, It is at the other end of the main road that starts from the main entrance (about 3 kms.). The temple is a small and simple structure. Shiva idol is very old. There is one Observation Tower in front of the temple. From there you have a beautiful panoramic view of the Bird Sanctuary Lake. Few feet away there is another watch tower. Nearby, there is one board enlisting the events of the past. That reminds how sport (hunting) has changed to conservation in modern times.
